A stitch in time...

My sister, Michelle, is inspiring me to post some of the crafty things I like do. Crafts are one of my other passions, stitchery being one of the things I like to craft or creat. Here are a couple of the things I've done in the past year or so. Both of these are my own design. Michelle had originally come up with a boy baptism pillowcase, but my daughter was getting baptized and so I made one up for a girl.

I am now on Goodreads

It was suggested by a few of you that I should get on goodreads.com so I did! I'm still not quite sure how to use all the stuff on there, but I'm sure I'll figure it out over time. At least I have a better place to keep track of all the books I want to read now.

I took the kids to the science museum today with our neighbors and the kids had a blast! It was sort of a last hurrah before school starts tomorrow. I felt like I should stay home and finish my laundry and do a few other things around the house, but I'm really glad that "good mommy" won and we did something fun.

I'm feeling really nervous for my kids and really hope they have a good day tomorrow and a great year. I remember all too well being the new kid at school and I can't say that those are memories I cherish. But, I also survived and had a good school experience eventhough I was the new kid several times. I'm sure my kids will be ok, too. I think I'm most nervous for Ethan since he's starting middle school. It'll be nice to get to the end of the day tomorrow so we will at least have the 1st day out of the way! I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

I'm in heaven!

I discovered this new book store the other that is similar to 75% Off Books in Dallas only bigger and better! It is called The Gallery Bookstore and they had tons of great books $4.99 or less, most were $1.99. I don't think Adam was as thrilled as I was since he knows of my love affair with books, but I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Anyone who knows me well knows how much I LOVE to read a good book! A friend of mine here in Nashville told me about a couple of series that I hadn't heard of before and The Gallery had all the books in both series for only $15 total. You gotta love it! The first one is the Shakespeare Stealer series - there are 3 books in the series - and so far I am really enjoying the first book.

The other series is called the Ranger's Apprentice. I haven't started reading them yet, but I'm looking forward to tackling them as well. The only unfortunate thing is that my list of books to read is starting to look as long as my list of projects to be accomplished! If only there was more time in the day and laundry, dishes, and dust didn't exist!!
